* Possibly unpopular opinion: I now think that all public transit should be free. If you want to get people out of cars give them a financial incentive to do so. Cracking down on fare evaders is also a lost cause. Just make transit free and redeploy those transit police efforts towards stopping crime, particularly violent crime, on transit. The fare box, whether in train stations or on buses, are a lost cause. Also, transit is already paid for - with tax revenue. Why should riders have to pay twice?

* In July I bought a new Mac Studio for $1200. Today, less than 6 months later, Apple will pay me $925 if I trade it in. Best Buy will pay me $1000 for a trade in. $1200 of lost value in less than 6 months on a high-end Apple device. Unreal.
* I've become so annoyed with macOS Finder and Spotlight being unable to handle a large number of files (1 million+) that I've pulled my Windows desktop out of retirement so I can continue my file project. This means I no longer have access to Apple Music or Numbers or Pages or any other silo'd Apple app which means, knowing me, I'm headed right back towards using Microsoft for anything that Proton can't provide. This is BS. Fix macOS Finder, Apple.
* The only social media I'm still on is Bluesky and Mastodon and I've gone read-only on those platforms. Additionally I've filtered out the words "Trump", "Elon" and "Musk". This is for my own sanity.

* Microsoft Link seems like a neat concept with a couple of major flaws. The first is that price. For a "dumb terminal" >$300 is not cool. Get that sucker uner $100. Second, Windows 365 is only available for businesses right now and not at a good price. If they had a "family plan" a family could buy a Microsoft Link and each person could have a cloud computer - reducing e-waste and taking up less space in your home.
* Sometimes macOS Finder and Spotlight piss me off so much I want to go running back to Windows. Why can't such simple parts of macOS "just work" "like magic"?
